STUDENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
COSYNE offers a limited number of volunteer opportunities for students. In exchange for their service and enthusiasm, student volunteers will receive free registration for either the workshops or the main meeting. Volunteers can only work ONE portion of the conference (either the main meeting or the workshops), and slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
ELIGIBILITY AND EXPECTATIONS
To be eligible, you must be a student. Please note that attendees are only eligible for one discount per registration, so if you are a travel grant recipient, you are not eligible to volunteer.
Main Meeting Volunteers
Time Commitment: 8-12 hours, scheduled in two-hour shifts over 2 to 4 days. Please apply only if you can commit to a minimum of 8 hours.
Workshop Volunteers
Time Commitment: A minimum of 6 hours, scheduled in one-hour shifts over 1–2 days. Shifts will take place during workshop sessions and will not be scheduled during the afternoon break. Please apply only if you can commit to a minimum of 6 hours.
As we want those who volunteer to be able to attend the majority of the conference, you will be able to request your preferred work times. While these times cannot be guaranteed, they will be accommodated as best as possible.
VOLUNTEER ROLES
Volunteer duties may include:
Supporting the registration/information desk.
Monitoring session rooms.
Providing audio and video support during oral sessions.
Assisting speakers.
Greeting attendees and helping with crowd control.
Assisting the organizing committee with various other tasks.
No special skills are required for most positions, but we are looking for a few individuals with social media and photography/videography experience.
HOW TO APPLY
The Student Volunteer Application will open in early January 2027.
Application deadline: 15 January 2027.
Applicants will be notified of their selection by 22 January 2027.
Selected volunteers will receive instructions to sign up for assignments beginning in mid-February.
Important: If selected, you must commit to attending the conference and fulfilling your assigned responsibilities. If you are unsure of your ability to attend, please do not apply. All volunteers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
